AWANA is a dynamic, engaging, and fun program of biblical teaching, exciting games, and fellowship. Our hope is to see today’s children become tomorrow’s Christian leaders in every aspect of society and culture.
AWANA follows the school calendar, September through May. We meet Wednesdays in the Sherman Harmon Family Life Center. A meal is served from 5:30–6:00 PM. Clubs run from 6:00–7:30 PM.
The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ.
AWANA Pledges
I pledge allegiance to the Awana flag, which stands for the Awana clubs, whose goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and train them to serve Him.
I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God’s Holy Word. I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path and will hide its words in my heart that I might not sin against God.
I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag and to the Saviour for whose Kingdom it stands; one brotherhood, uniting all mankind in service and in love.

Puggles: ages 2–3
Cubbies: ages 3–4 (must be potty trained)
Sparks: kindergarten–2nd grade
T&T: 3rd–6th grade
AWANA Registration
All clubbers must have a current AWANA registration form on file in the AWANA office, or a signed online registration form. The form includes Release of Liability, Photo Release, Consent to Medical Treatment and AWANA Contact Permission Authorization. For safety precautions and insurance purposes, this completed form is required for participation in regular AWANA nights or AWANA activities. If you have not registered yet, please register online below or contact AWANA Ministry Director Jake Fluke.
Important information
Please arrive a few minutes early to sign children in and help them get their meal. Children must be signed out each week and will only be released to their parent or guardian. Club night ends promptly at 7:30 PM.
Game time can be energetic, so children should wear good running shoes and play clothes. Girls should avoid skirts and dresses whenever possible.
Please label coats, hats, gloves, bags, books, and other belongings with your child’s name.

6:15–6:40 T&T game time · Puggles, Cubbies, and Sparks class time
6:40–7:00 Puggles/Cubbies game time · Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T class time
7:00–7:25 Sparks game time · Puggles, Cubbies, and T&T class time
7:25–7:30 All clubs — clean-up and dismissal
Club cancellations & inclement weather
Church closings follow the same schedule as the local schools. If school is closed, AWANA is cancelled. Please make your own decision about attending in all inclement weather. Your safety is of utmost importance to us. Major roads may be clear when other roads are not.

Wellness policy
To avoid spreading illness, we ask AWANA volunteers and children with the following symptoms not to attend that evening:
A fever of 100 degrees or higher, vomiting, or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
A bad cough, a rash that may be contagious, or a runny nose accompanied by other symptoms.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation.
Behavior
All clubbers are expected to behave respectfully in speech and actions while attending club. Repeated infractions or actions harmful to other children will not be tolerated.
Please tell your child’s AWANA leader about any situation that will help us understand your child, so we can minister to them rather than treating a moment only as a discipline problem.

Jake has been involved at Cathedral since 2012. He grew up in AWANA here and now helps lead the children’s and AWANA ministries. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have a son, Jonah.
