You do not have to walk through grief alone.

At Cathedral Baptist Church we believe God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in our trouble so that we can comfort one another (2 Corinthians 1:3–4). GriefShare is one way our church family puts that promise into practice.

GriefShare is a friendly, Christ-centered support group for people who have lost a loved one. For thirteen weeks you sit with others who understand, watch a short video with counselors, pastors, and people who have walked this road, then spend time encouraging one another. There is no pressure to talk. Come as you are. Share as little or as much as you need. Each week you also receive a participant guide with Scripture, practical help, and space to journal between meetings.

The sessions deal with the real weight of loss: shock and “is this normal?”, loneliness, fear, anger, regret, hard questions for God, strained relationships, feeling stuck, and how to take the next step while still honoring the one you love. You may begin any week. Each lesson stands on its own, and many people find it helpful to walk through the cycle more than once.

We meet Mondays at 6:00 p.m. Come as you are. Please call the church office for the meeting room and the dates of the current cycle. If prayer is what you need most right now, we will pray with you whether you join the group or not.
